The latest iOS update comes with a new feature that you may not like, especially if you have young children.
Police are warning parents about a new iPhone feature called “NameDrop.” It enables your iPhone to swap information with someone else just by placing the two iPhones in close proximity. With it you can automatically grab someone’s contact information including their phone number. email address and even a picture.
Since this new feature is available with the new iOS 17 update by default, if you don’t want it, you will have to go into your settings to turn it off.
Here’s how you disable this feature. Click on your iPhone settings, click general, then airdrop and shut off “bringing devices together.”
